Book Repair and Preservation Workshop - March 27th.
I need to give a count to the presenter next week, so if you signed up or plan to sign up, please drop me a quick email to let me know so I can have enough materials sent to supply the entire class. I'm am so excited!!
CCD Requests due by April 4th. Please check the CCD Wiki located at
http://caslscollectiondevelopment.wikispaces.com/ to be sure the title you are requesting hasn't already been purchased through CCD by another district.

The 510 database process has begun. Please remember to "reply to all" when answering any emails concerning database requests. This will help me train Carrie for this year and hopefully not miss anything in the process.

"At the Westminster Education Forum CILIP (Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals) Chief Executive Annie Mauger stressed the important role that libraries and librarians in communities and schools play helping children develop a lifelong reading habit - which leads to greater attainment, improved life chances and prosperity."The speech was delivered to policymakers and stakeholders as part of the National Curriculum seminar series. Explaining what difference librarians can make to children’s education and attainment, Annie said:“Librarians have a saying ‘the right book for the right child’ and children’s librarians are dedicated to delivering this alongside information literacy and digital literacy skills for children and young people. They read the books that they recommend to children and develop understanding and expertise of what works for children.http://www.cilip.org.uk/news-media/Documents/Westminster%20Education%20Forum%20speech_Annie%20Mauger_290212.pdf
